A quotation can be described as a document going through several states whose classifications can be modified several times.

Archymede related solutions are both simple and effective.
There are five quotation “states”.
Quotation State: In Progress
The in progress is a typical state of the quotation process. In case of quite complicated quotations extended preparation periods are required. So all “in progress” quotations left unfinished by company users are easy to find in the database.
Quotation State: Finished
The finished stage is the obvious result of the previous stage. Once the quotation was finalized, the status changes to “Finished” by activating the “Quotation Data“ option inside the “General Data” environment and clicking on the button “Apply and Save”, alternatively, by clicking on the button inside the environment “Chart”. As a result, the quotation and all the requirements, such as sales and technical conditions, are made final.
The quotation can now be examined and printed, but no changes are possible unless the status “in progress” is reactivated by clicking on the button “Apply and Save”.
Quotation State: Expired
Expiration time of quotations is automatically set by Archymede. Change of status from “Finished” to “Expired” must be made inside the “Quotation Data” from the “General Data” environment. “Quotation data” gives immediate visibility to all active quotations (provided you make a selection in the database).
Quotation State: Lost
The “Lost” state is useful to learn the unsuccessful rate of the issued quotations, so companies can make assessments based on this data.
Quotation Stage: Successful
The successful state is useful to make assessments about the success rate of the quotations.
It is important to remember that the Archymede export option of the quotation database in CSV Format (spreadsheet), makes the quotations statistical assessment a lot easier.
Filters, selections, reorganisations and assessments of data can help obtain valuable management information.
