How to change a quotation.
Archymede is a sophisticated online configuration software hosted on a server which supports real time saves of each single operation entered by the user.
Besides, it is a very flexible software that allows modifications of every feature of the configuration. There are no mandatory rules or sequences.
Working connected to internet obviously means that the data safety and performances depend on the “Quality” of the available network.
So, specific functions were introduced to activate the required automatic devices which make sure that the final output is fully consistent with the users’ requirements. This must be also ensured when several changes have been made both in the configuration of single machines and in the terms and conditions of the supply that were suggested to the client.
Feature “Apply and Save”
This feature is displayed in both sections “Quotation” and “ Chart” so data can be changed simultaneously, and the user can confirm and save them on the server only by clicking on this button. For example, no further confirmation is required in case the supply conditions or the reference to several items change.
Please, pay attention. If you do not click on this button, the entered changes are lost.
Feature “Save”
When working on quotations, they are usually saved by clicking on the button “Save”.
The above mentioned function can be applied every time the button appears on the window heading, on the right hand side of the Archymede logo.
Saving data is very fast, also in the event of very complicated quotations, and does not interfere with their preparation.
Saving often is highly recommended because it is the best solution against technical problems arising from malfunctions of the internet connection.
One click only and the quotation is saved and safely stored in the server!
Feature “Recalculate”
This special feature applies in conditions when new data are saved in the server. In this case, a perfect alignment with the final decision by the user must be ensured, also when phone connections are very bad.
The feature can or must be implemented under two conditions:
when sensitive “quotation data” are modified. In this case the change can have an impact on the configuration of a number of items (i.e.: packaging conditions, transport, supervision, etc.).
when the configuration process is over.
In case of complicated quotations, it can take a several minutes to save; however implementing this function can be worth the effort, especially in countries where internet connections are not very efficient.
All these functions are a valid aid for Archymede users because they make the offer perfectly compliant with the user’s requirements and always available.
